For the art, computer and skin experts on here, a serious question.

Death's picture

I realise that i may be setting myself up for endless ridicule from our learned members but I had an idea that I thought I would air here on Scarybirds.

I mess around with pictures. I swap heads and bodies around or create hopefully comic effects. Now some of this requires touching etc and colour blending, as you all know. I use a very old programme ,Photoimpact 3, I know there are better packages out there, but it suits me.

One of the features is an eye-dropper, which copies the colour you require exactly,  to be used as required in touching and re-touching etc.

Would it be possible to create the software which could then recreate the colour in for lets say tattoo ink, to treat skin blemishes like port wine stains etc?

It would be a matter of accurate light to capture the skin concerned if  it had to be photographed. Or would it mean developement of an external device to collect the colour information from the skin colour that you wish to copy?

My other question is, could this information be transferred to tattoist's ink, or are there tattooing/skin problems that may be incurred?

I await the howls of laughter.
